The 2018 Alumni Reunion Champagne Brunch was held at the Ernest C. Withers Gallery and Museum on Saturday, May 12 immediately following the 148th Commencement.
The Class of 1968 hosted the event in honor of their 50th Class Anniversary and Alumni Reunion Celebration. Anita Curry-Jackson, co-chair, opened up the program with comments about the occasion. National Alumni President Jeffrey Higgs and Brenda Gaines Ollie, Office of Institutional Advancement shared remarks about the significance and generosity from the class.
Roger Brown, ‘13 catered the event and served a delicious meal that included a “Champagne Toast” during the program.
Yvonne Acey, ‘1958 class chair, said, "It was a pleasure to serve as one of the LOC Reunion Weekend 2018 Chairs embracing the theme : "Where Do We Go From Here? Chaos or Community?" This theme presents a continuous personal, realistic, engaging, innovative and challenging commitment for all Alums to connect with LOC monthly, quarterly, and
annually,i.e.financially, professionally educationally and individually - for our college to remain as a quality institution in the 21st century and beyond.
"As Alumni, we should realize that our Reunion Weekend is not only a celebration showcasing of our achievements and progress, but an opportunity to make our institution a success locally, regionally and globally.
The program ended with closing remarks from Janice Hill-Williams, 1968 class chair.
